Shades of Gray- Hair Stylist/ Entrepreneur/ Consultant
I AM A DETROIT NATIVE
As a licensed hairstylist and entrepreneur, I have had the privilege of doing what I love for 25 years. I have dedicated myself to catering to a clientele of woman consisting of high-level professionals and celebrities.
I BELIEVE IN BALANCING BUSINESS AND ART
While my areas of expertise are coloring, cutting and styling, I also enjoy developing new hair stylist by sharing my knowledge of trending and innovative styling techniques as well as important business skills including: branding, bookkeeping, taxes, revenue tracking, sales and demonstrating exemplary customer service.
I KNOW THE IMPORTANCE OF SHARPENING THE SAW.
Obtaining my degree from The University of Michigan's Business School helped keep my entrepreneurial knowledge fresh as I participated in a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China to gain insight on conducting business in a global environment. Through my interactions with the Chinese and International corporate leaders, I have gained a new perspective on business and strategies to utilize in my business operations.
I AM CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS.
I am available for professional development and training sessions, workshops and seminars. Email me at grantgray23@gmail.com or call me at 313-247-5070.

BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS
Don’t lose sight of the goal! A successful stylist is one who has a large clientele. That statement is not necessarily true. You can have a phenomenal business with lots of clients, but if you are not building relationships with your clients, solid relationships, just as the time is certain to pass, so will your clientele. A key component to establishing and maintaining a great clientele is the ability to solidify a personal and professional relationship with people. There is a fine line when we discuss delicate issues with clients. Do not become too
personal with clients, and understand your boundaries with them, as well as pay close attention not to invade anyone’s personal business
through conversations that they do not bring up on their own. Going too far, talking to much can be interpreted as gossiping. Being a “Gossip” can be the death of your business. Remembering small
events, things of a personal nature like a client’s birth date or that a family member had surgery are just a few examples of the type of things that you want to bring up in conversation with clients. Being supportive and encouraging play a major role in establishing strong relationships with clients. If you practice being true and faithful to
your clients they will reciprocate and your business will grow!
